Back home

I am back home together with my family.

This morning when I woke up my shoulder was rather painful so we decided it was wiser not to take any risk and prepare the next races.

Considering the awful weather the riders were confronted to during the third stage, it was for sure a good idea!

Now I have to recover and focus on what is coming next.

Thank you so much for yours messages and for supporting me the way you do. It really means a lot to me.

I’ll be back soon,

A tough day

Good night everybody,

I had a rather tough day this Tuesday because of the crash. It happened while riding out the feeding zone and it was not possible to avoid the crash because of a bottle on the road.

I hope to have a good rest tonight and we will see how I am feeling tomorrow morning.

Thank you very much for the numerous encouragement messages you sent to me this evening.

Now, I am going to bed and I’ll try to sleep.

Some rest between two demanding races

Good night everybody,

After Paris-Nice, I took some rest at home without riding my bike during two days because I had to recover from the flu. It started during the French race and obviously I passed it to my teammate José Joaquín Rojas who shared my room and is obliged to renounce to Milan-Sanremo.

It is very important to recover because from next Monday I will participate in the Volta a Catalunya, a tough race.

The rest of the week I will train, spend as much time as possible with my family and the kids, walk together in the sun and I have also to have massage and see my osteopath. After that, ready to go!

See you Cataluña!

Cycling can be a surprise

Hello everybody,

We are currently racing in Paris-Nice. Yesterday stage arrived in Mende at the top of a hill called “Laurent Jalabert hill”. It has been a tough day because it was really cold during the stage.

Anyway yesterday like every day since the season began my team-mates did a great job to help and support me.

After the stage we had a 3 hours transfer by bus to reach the hotel.

I share my room with José Joaquín Rojas and when we entered it yesterday evening we had a real surprise!

I show you some pictures so that you can see that sometimes cycling is a hard job even when time to rest comes!

Speak soon,

Back in France

Today we traveled to France to take part in Paris-Nice which will begin tomorrow with a 9,4 km individual time trial in Dampierre-en-Yvelines.

We flew this morning to Paris and after we had lunch we went out for a training session.

Before having dinner, the team manager gave us our numbers. Mine is 31. I hope it is a lucky one!

The week will be a tough one because as far as I remember the level is always very high in Paris-Nice. We’ll try do well just like we did till now in 2012. .

Today our young Colombian team-mate Nairo Quintana won the first stage in the Tour of Murcia, what means wins N° 4 for Team Movistar since the current season started in Australia.

I wish you a good night. Thank you for following me.
